Craft quality, forging and blueprints are three separate stages. A blueprint unlocks a recipe, the craft tier controls what can be made, and the forge then applies its chances, costs and risks.
Use the crafting and forge interfaces to review your tier, costs and odds before confirming.

Read the displayed odds and expected result before every confirmation. Never confirm a risky upgrade out of habit.
