Equip a quiver in the utility slot to receive its archery bonus. Bonuses from several quivers do not add together: the highest applicable bonus is used.
Open and fill a quiver
Hold the quiver in your main hand and left-click to open its container. Store arrows in it before switching back to your bow.
The quiver may stop appearing on your character when you hold a two-handed weapon. Its function depends on its slot, not its appearance.
Which arrow will be fired?
The utility quiver is checked first. In the recent behaviour, firing consumes an arrow directly from its container: there is no need to wait for an automatic pocket refill.
The first usable arrow slot in the priority quiver determines your ammunition. Rearrange its contents to change arrow type.
| Bow | Ammunition |
|---|---|
| Material longbow | Available compatible arrows |
| Fire longbow | Fire arrows |
| Ice longbow | Ice arrows |
| Poison longbow | Poison arrows |
Without the matching ammunition, an elemental bow does not substitute another arrow type. Also check the requirements shown on the item and workbench.
Recover arrows
Arrows fired by your character can become recoverable items after coming to rest. Recovered or picked-up arrows are stored in available quivers before normal pickup.
If your quivers are full, remaining arrows stay on the ground. Avoid leaving important arrows behind. Automatic storage pauses while a container is open.
Effects and unlocks
Fire, ice and poison arrows have different effects. In the archery module described here, their projectile effects apply to non-player entities; do not assume a guaranteed effect on another player.
Available talents, crafting blueprints, recipes and equipment depend on your progression and server. The in-game menu and item are the reference.
