Your island on Hylterium's Skyblock: level, members and limits
On the Floating Isles, Hylterium's Skyblock, every player has their own protected island, which stays their base for the whole game. Everything is managed from the /is menu: members and permissions, settings, block limits, the island leaderboard and visits.
This guide goes with the page about Hylterium's Hytale Skyblock server, which explains how to get started.
Creating and finding your island
At the hub, the Floating Isles portal creates your island automatically. After that:
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
/is | Island menu: members, settings, leaderboard, public islands, limits |
/is create | Creates an island if you don't have one |
/is home | Takes you back to your island |
/is invite <player> | Invites a player |
/is visit <player> | Visits an open island |
/is settings | Sets the island's permissions |
The /is menu lists every island you have joined. A /home can only be set or used on an island you have access to.
Island level and leaderboard
- The
/isleaderboard ranks islands by level, then by score. - The site also publishes the Skyblock island leaderboard, with each island's score.
- The server shop has a category of its own, "island value".
- Public islands can be visited from
/is, and the island system also handles island ratings. - Island challenges earn rewards.
Growing your island
- Extensions enlarge the island and raise its limits.
- The Limits page in
/isshows your island's block caps; they are kept across server restarts. - The number of spawners allowed depends on the island's level.
- Cobblestone generators are upgraded tier by tier, and stacked blocks provide bulk storage.
To produce without spending your days on it, see Skyblock automation; to sell what the island produces, the Skyblock economy.
Life on the island
- Trees grow faster there than in survival.
- Rain has been falling there again since 25 September 2026, and weather powers the rain collectors.
- The on-screen information panel shows the players online, the Discord and the store.
- With the Paladin rank, you can fly on your island.
Playing together
Hylterium tells apart three ways of playing together:
| Form | What it is for |
|---|---|
| Island members | Lasting permissions on your island: building, producing and storing together |
| RPG group | Temporary activities such as dungeons, and sharing experience; it grants no rights on an island |
| Guild | A community organisation, bound by the collective rules |
To invite a friend, the island needs a free slot. Before inviting them:
- Put irreplaceable items in private storage.
- Invite them with minimal permissions first.
- Test building, breaking and opening containers one by one: these are separate permissions, like managing members.
- Explain which areas and machines must not be changed.
- Check permissions after every promotion.
The owner remains responsible for the access they grant.
Irreversible actions
- Leaving, transferring or resetting an island can change its owner, its members and its blocks: read every confirmation to the end.
- Resetting your island also wipes your inventory.
- Take a screenshot before a major operation, and ask support when in doubt.
Disconnections, world changes and restarts save the whole island. The details are in the Skyblock wiki.
