The Golden Age of Guilds
Until now, a guild on Hylterium was mostly a name, a tag, a few shared claims and some quests to climb the ranking. Handy, but you quickly ran out of things to do: once your territory was set, not much else happened. This rework changes everything. Your guild becomes a power you build, grow and pit against the others, with its own progression, economy, installations and even its own events.
We rebuilt the system from the ground up: new mechanics and new interfaces, but also models, textures, animations, sounds and particles made especially for Hylterium. Let's start at the beginning.
The Core, beating heart of your guild
It all starts with a brand-new block: the Guild Core. Once placed in one of your claims, it becomes your team's headquarters. This is where you follow your progression, check your quests and contracts, collect your rewards and manage the shared treasury.
The idea was simple: no more scattered commands. One place, one menu, and everything that matters to your guild within reach. The dashboard shows your level, your experience bar and your spot in the monthly ranking, the requirements for the next level with their gauges, your active bonuses and a large fresco of every level waiting to be conquered.
The shared treasury lives in the core as well. Every member can pour hyltcoins into it, and that money becomes your guild's war chest. Keep it in mind: you'll soon see what it's for.
Keeping track of guild life
A growing guild is a guild where a lot happens. Who emptied the chest? Who bought that boost? When did the new recruit join? The guild logs answer all of these questions.
Every important action is recorded with the player's name and the time: members joining and leaving, rank changes, deposits and withdrawals from the treasury and chests, purchases, completed quests and contracts, placed portals, alliances… It's all gathered in the Chat and log screen, right next to the guild chat and the alliance chat.
Talking to each other got much easier too: /gc sends a message to your guild, /ga to your allies, and typed without a message, they switch your chat to that channel. Coloured [Guild] and [Allies] prefixes always remind you where you're talking.
A real headquarters: chests and portals
Your guild also gets installations worthy of it. The new royal chest, with its iron frame, domed lid, heraldic shield and golden feet, opens onto the gold piled up inside. You can place as many as you like, their storage rows grow as you level up, and each chest keeps its own log so trust reigns.
Guild homes become real physical portals. The blue portal is reserved for members: rename it, choose your main home (the one /gh takes you to), and travel freely between your portals or to the public portals of other guilds. The orange portal is your public front door, open to your allies or to the whole server depending on your settings: perfect for a market, a town or an embassy.
A core, chests, portals… Your headquarters is ready. Now for the real question: how does your guild grow?
25 levels to conquer
Your guild now climbs through 25 levels, and every tier has to be earned. As it rises, it welcomes more members and expands its territory with more claims, its chests grow, new portals open, new installations unlock, and it even gains precious intel on its rivals.
Four things count to reach the next level: guild experience, hyltcoins from the treasury, the contracts your guild took part in and, higher up, victories in guild events. Every member contributes at their own pace, and as soon as every requirement is met, the level-up is automatic: the new level lands and the whole guild benefits right away.
Great. But where does that guild experience come from?
Guild quests step up
You already know them: until now, guild quests were mostly about climbing the ranking. From now on, they become the engine of your progression. Every completed quest earns guild experience, the very thing that levels your guild up. They still count for the ranking, but every quest you complete now also brings you closer to your next tier.
The other big change: rewards no longer go to a single player, but to the whole guild. Everything a quest earns lands in the guild's pending rewards, with its origin and date. A "Claim all" button delivers the loot to your guild chests, and whatever doesn't fit stays safely aside. Everyone's work benefits everyone.
And for extra comfort, quests now complete on their own as soon as the goals are reached, with an announcement in the guild chat. They're shown as cards, with their progress and a detailed sheet for each one.
So quests push you up the ladder… until the levels ask for something else: contracts.
Contracts: the whole server on the same goal
A contract is a big goal shared by all of Hylterium: crafting items in bulk, defeating creatures, placing or breaking thousands of blocks, harvesting, travelling long distances. It has a time limit and a nice reward at the end.
Every guild can join, and that's where it gets interesting: you all work towards the same goal, but each guild is paid for what it actually brought. Every action counts automatically from the moment you sign up; just play, whether in a group or on your own. The more your members get involved, the bigger your share of the loot.
A contract earns guild experience and hyltcoins paid straight into the treasury, and it counts towards your next level. Finish it on time and you also grab bonus rewards. Let it expire, though, and nobody gets anything.
Spy on your rivals. As you level up, your guild first sees which guilds have joined a contract, then the exact share of each one. Perfect to know when it's time to speed up.
Only thing is, contracts are hungry. Thousands of blocks, piles of ore… Where do you find that many resources?
The Guild Drill: the event that digs for you
A colossal machine planted in the wild. Thirty minutes of drilling. Waves of golems determined to smash it to pieces.
The answer is the Drill, the first real guild event. Launch it with the treasury, and the whole server is told: the world, the zone and the coordinates land in the chat. A huge steel-and-brass drill then sets up and starts digging. For thirty minutes, it tears precious ores and mountains of blocks from the ground. Your mission: keep it alive until the end.
Easier said than done. Stone golems come in waves, more numerous and tougher as the minutes go by. While some hold the line, others look after the machine: repair it with the drill hammer (up to two repairers at once, and it goes faster with two; careful, taking a hit interrupts your repair) and refuel it with Hylterium powder, or extraction stops… while the clock keeps ticking. With a few of you, everyone naturally finds their role.
Facing you are four kinds of golems, each with its own style:
The guardian is slow, massive and relentless: it charges defenders and slams the ground to hit everything around it. The breaker, small and fast, chains blows; some hunt players, others throw themselves straight at the machine. The earth-thrower keeps its distance and bombards you with blocks of earth, backing off as soon as you get close. As for the shaman, it heals the wounded golems around it: take it down first, or the wave never ends.
After thirty minutes, it's time to share. The guild that launched the drill keeps 60% of the loot, and the others split the rest according to their contribution: damage dealt to golems, repairs made, fuel supplied. Nobody else showed up? You take it all. But if the machine is destroyed, you only save a small part of the haul. And since the vein depends on the zone where the machine settles, the most hostile regions hide the most precious ores, all the way up to adamantite.
The icing on the cake: a successful drill counts as a victory for the guild that launched it and for every guild that took part, and even a failure counts as a participation. Remember the victories the levels ask for? Here they are.
One detail remains, and not a small one: the drill is thirsty. Without Hylterium powder, it stops. So where does that powder come from?
The Guild Foundry: industry kicks in
This is the centrepiece of the rework, and probably the most impressive installation. The guild foundry is a true smelting tower of cut stone, riveted metal and polished gold, with a glowing hearth and a chimney that smokes while it works. Its job: turn Hylterium ore into ingots for the whole guild, even while you're busy elsewhere.
You drop in ore and coal, and the foundry does the rest. The amount of ore needed for an ingot follows the ingot price on the market, recalculated every day: the foundry's economy lives at the pace of the server's.
And it grows with you. Modest at first, it learns over the levels to smelt several ingots in parallel and to work faster, and some tiers even allow an extra foundry. Its interface was designed to be easy to read: a clear smelting queue, catalysts to speed up production, a button to pause it, ore recovery at any time… and even a button to mute it, if your neighbours prefer silence.
The Grinder: closing the loop
Your ingots can be sold on the market for hyltcoins… or go through the guild grinder, which turns them into Hylterium powder, the only fuel able to run the drill. It unlocks with the foundry, and your guild can place more of them as it levels up.
Ore → ingot → powder → drilling → resources → contracts → levels. It's all connected. Your call: sell your ingots right away, or invest in the next big extraction.
Core, chests, foundry, grinder, hammer… One question remains: how do you build all of this?
The Guild Workbench: where everything is built
All these installations come out of one single place: the new guild workbench, fully modelled, animated and voiced for Hylterium, with its golden trims, sparkling crystals and a lantern with living embers. It is made at the classic workbench, then builds the core, the large chest, the foundry, the grinder and the drill hammer. It's where the whole adventure begins.
The Guild Shop: where the treasury comes alive
And the treasury in all this? Besides paying for your levels, it feeds the guild shop, the true nerve centre of the guild. This is where the hyltcoins you pooled together turn into real advantages for every member: every coin poured into the treasury ends up benefiting the whole guild.
You'll find guild experience boosts to speed up a quest rush, reputation boosts and jobs experience boosts to help every member progress faster, a foundry boost, revive tokens to get back up on the spot instead of respawning, the portal unlock, the drill launch… and even events for the whole server: flying merchant, world boss, piñata, vegetable race or treasure hunt. Throw a party for all of Hylterium… and make sure everyone knows who to thank.
The guild shop has also been completely redesigned so you can find your way around. Every item is visible, even the ones you can't buy yet, with the required level and cooldowns ticking down live. And each item has its own detail sheet so you know exactly what it brings before spending.
The summit, and beyond
Quests, contracts, drill, foundry: everything leads to the same goal, level 25. Up there, everything is unlocked, your industry runs at full speed… and one last door opens.
Prestige. The guild leader can trigger it from the core: the guild starts again at level 1, but keeps its member, claim and chest capacities. Ten prestiges are available, each a little more demanding than the last. Enough to tell the server's true legends apart.
And also…
The rework comes with a host of quieter improvements. New rank permissions let you fine-tune who can place or break chests, open the core, set the main home, harvest or hurt tamed animals, including for your allies. Storage drawers now follow the chest permission. And every guild installation has been carefully remade: models, textures, animations, sounds, particles and detailed in-game descriptions.
Command essentials
/guild(or/g): your guild menu./gh: teleport to your main home./gcand/ga: guild and alliance chats./foreurand/foreur infos: join and follow your guild's drill ("foreur" is French for drill)./guilds: the guild list and ranking.
With this rework, we wanted guilds to be the heart of the adventure on Hylterium. We can't wait to see what you do with it. Rally your guild, place the core, fire up the foundry, defend the drill and aim for level 25. The throne of Hylterium awaits its first prestige guild!
